It all started when I visited a nearby town, shortly after moving from Phoenix to Washington. Upon entering Enumclaw, WA I was immediately drawn to the beautiful and peaceful town and its picturesque main street. Looking like a set right out of a Hallmark movie, the street is lined with local boutiques, cafes, brew houses, and the best antique store I have ever had the pleasure to visit. But something caught my eye as I was passing the ice cream parlor and I was lured by my passionate writers soul, to the local bookstore, The Dusty Shelf. I wandered the shelves, feeling a wave of nostalgia as the scent of old book bindings and aromatic coffee grounds welcomed me. Everyone that worked there was so kind and hospitable, and truly passionate about the written word. Nervous and feeling WAY out of my league, I offered the girl behind the counter my business card and explained that I had recently moved from the desert to finish my series based up in here the PNW. She was gracious enough to encourage my writing and promised to pass my card on. A few weeks later I received an email from Josh, the new owner of The Dusty Shelf. This particular event is the 4th local authors book signing I have been fortunate enough to be invited to.
I appreciate Josh and all of his family and crew at The Dusty Shelf, for every opportunity that they have given me, and I look forward to working with them again in the future. Until then, keep an eye out for future book signing events! Hope to see you there!
Take care L.
